My Approach

It’s nice to (virtually) meet you! I’m glad you’re here.

I love to help people with digestive and hormonal issues bring balance to their body, mind, and spirit using a holistic blend of cutting-edge science and ancestral wisdom.

(Which, turns, out, is also science! Who knew?!)

I’m certified with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, the Nutritional Therapy Association, and the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition program. I’m also a Certified Autoimmune Protocol Coach.

I spent 4 years as a Staff Member and 10 years as a volunteer coach in different roles at Landmark Worldwide, where I was responsible for over 500 participants at a time in various programs in Landmark’s Curriculum for Living, Assisting Program, and Family Division (for Young People and Teens).

My coaching style is big, tough love. I believe that as coaches we need to meet our clients where they are, and that sustainability and accessibility are the most important parts of any protocol.

I am well-versed in many therapeutic diets, from autoimmune-specific protocols to blood sugar control to fertility and prenatal nutrition, and many more. The key is not just finding which dietary approach is right for you, but understanding that bodies are dynamic, and what works for you at one stage of life will often need to shift and change to support you in another. Personalization is key!

One of my many infamous sayings is, “If it’s not sustainable, it’s not a solution”. I believe that’s true for our planet, (hello, ethical omnivores and regenerative farmers!) as well as our relationships and behavior.

I also really love to remind us all that “when we know better, we do better”. There’s no shame in realizing that you were doing the best you could with the information you had at the time! Lord knows 20 years ago I thought low-fat dairy was good for me and that could not have been further from the truth.

A bit about my story – I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2014, and a few months later with osteoporosis due to years of malabsorption. (Turns out, you can be eating the world’s most perfect diet but if you’re not absorbing it you may as well be eating potato chips.)

So far – with only nutritional therapy, no pharmaceuticals – I’ve reversed the symptoms of my UC and moved my bone density scores back up into osteopenia (bones heal MUCH more slowly than gut tissue). Through that process, I learned at an even deeper level about personalization and sustainability in my own dietary approach!!

In my holistic nutrition practice, I work with you to discover your unique healing opportunities, using a combination of in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and functional lab testing.

We work together to develop a sustainable set of changes that you can make to bring more balance to your whole system – mind, body and spirit!

We might use a combination of any of the following tools:

  • Therapeutic Diets
  • Elimination Diets
  • Nutritional Supplements
  • Stress Management Techniques
  • Mindfulness Exercises
  • Functional Lab Testing
  • Exercise Specific to Your Goals
  • Mindset Work Around Relationship to Food

I tend to start out seeing clients once a week (usually over Zoom or phone calls) for the first month or so, and then we move to every other week once we get a momentum going. I generally ask for a 3 month commitment, which gives us the ability to layer in new habits in a slow and sustainable way, and then troubleshoot and course correct as needed.

If you are tired of not getting the answers you need to your health-related questions, if you feel like sh*t and your doctor says there’s nothing wrong with you, if you want to repair your relationship with food and your body, you’ve come to the right place. I’d love to talk with you to see how I can help! Schedule a call with me by clicking the button below.

XO,
